True 3D Viewer

True 3D Viewer

True 3D Viewer is a system which creates tridimensional models from images acquired by OLYMPUS LEXT confocal microscope and displays them really spatially on a special 3D LCD monitor.

Principle of function:

The system works with images acquired by OLYMPUS LEXT laser confocal microscope. After the image file (*.ols) is opened, the 3D model is created and displayed automatically. The model can be observed from any angle using a 3D controller. The model is displayed on a special auto stereoscopic 3D LCD monitor, where it can be seen really spatially without the need of any 3D glasses. The spatial effect is so persuasive, that the model seems to be so protruded from the screen that it can be grasped. In this way, one can inspect the specimen in detail and get clear information about the spatial arrangement.

Functions overview:

  • Automatic construction of a 3D model of a specimen from an .ols file and its display on a 3D LCD monitor
  • 3D observing for up to 3 persons using a single 3D monitor
  • Possibility to connect several 3D monitors (using a video splitter) for educational and demonstrational purposes
  • Free manipulation with the model using a 3D positional controller or a mouse
  • Several modes of model display:
    • Solid 3D model with a real texture (captured by LEXT)
    • Artificially coloured solid 3D model
    • Wireframe 3D model with a real texture
    • Artificially coloured wireframe 3D model
    • Selection of colour palletes for better spatial orientation
    • Display of calibrated axes
    • Display of the maximal value in z axis
  • 2D snapshot of the 3D model

Fields of use:

The True 3D Viewer system is intended for all users of OLYMPUS LEXT confocal microscope.

System parts:

The system includes all the necessary parts for display of 3D models really spatially:

  • 3D LCD monitor
  • 3D positional controller
  • Application software

Minimal system requirements:
